Project for the Network
Janek is investigating circulatory movements of Italian Anarchist thought between Brazil and Italy. Due to the high mobility of individuals, the latest events in the international anarchist movement were widely discussed both in Brazil and Italy. In addition, the anarchist press played a central role in this context, as it was received with equal intensity on both sides of the Atlantic. Brazilian anarchists wrote not only for the Brazilian press, but also for the Italian press, whereas Italian anarchists often wrote about the country they had just returned from. In this way, texts, pamphlets, manifestos, etc. were also shared and translated , leading to further circulation in the respective circles.
